| 1. Epidemiological studies on humans. This will entail: |
| a) study of New Suspected clinical cases. |
| b) Seroprevalance to see the prevalance of the disease throughout the Kingdom. |
| 2. Epidemiological study on domestic and wild animals. |
| 3. To identify the Vector(s) of the virus(e.g. ticks, mosquitoes). |
| 4. To identify the Virus Reservoir(s) in the Saudi environment. |
| 5. To conduct extensive characterization studies on the isolated ALKV. |
| 6. Development of new techniques to be involved in ALKV research. |
| 7. Trials to develop a Vaccine for AlKV to be used in humans. |
| 8. Studies to examine the effects of some Medicinal herbs and preparations on ALKV. |
